Crazy stuff. Spoilers on Sunday, watch out for that. Anyway...
Friday: In order to kill time before the release of Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince, a group of friends, including myself, Sam, Seth, Tony, Travis, Katie P., and a host of others that I never really saw, went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at a late showing, ensuring that when we got out, HBP would be ready for us to purchase. It was here that I was assaulted by the most disgusting popcorn I have ever consumed, though, due to my popcorn addiction, I still was tempted to eat it. I rather enjoyed the movie, however, though I missed Gene Wilder in the role of Willy Wonka. Kinda creepy, though. Anyway, by the time we left there, we were well on our way to...
Saturday (technically): On a ride with Seth and Sam to Borders to pick up a copy of HBP, it was quickly realized that there wasn't a chance in hell we were going to get it within two hours, and I rather fancied sleep. After listening to Seth talk to his sisters about the fact that in 'only' an hour they were going to have the new book, I remembered my purchase of Order of the Phoenix from Wal-Mart, where there was a large stack of books, and no lines. I told Seth this, and after a while it was decided that most of us would go to Wal-Mart to check out the situation, while the rest reserved our spot at Borders, in case my plan failed. When we reached Wal-Mart, however, we noticed a large pile of HBP books as tall as my chest, and as large as a regulation sized Pool table, with no line. Seth: "I feel like I've beaten the system..." Giggling like maniacs, we purchased our copies and returned to Borders for the other members of the party. Went home, read two chapters, slept, woke up, and read the whole rest of the day.
Sunday: After getting up far too early, I went to church. Yay Catholics. Returned home, and was quickly whisked away to lunch and my Grandparents house, where I finished my reading of HBP. Was rather shocked and sad at the loss of Dumbledore. I am pleased, however, that my favorite character, Remus Lupin, not only lived, but gained a girlfriend. And I refuse to accept that Snape is evil and a traitor. I just cant believe that. JK would not have spent all that time establishing that Dumbledore trusts Snape to destroy it all now. But I digress. There are certainly other, better places here on Livejournal to read about Snapes innocence, the mysterious R.A.B. *coughREGULUSBLACKcough*, and the death of Dumbledore. Why don't you go look for them? Come on, I dare you. You might have fun.
